Wow, Johnny Depp plays the funnest characters! He looks so cute. I love the choice of colors in his costume and they way he's styled.

Amir Masud

My friend Amir is an awesome filmmaker crafting a unique style in this short film called "The Tempest." His films reminded me of Maya Deren's style of film making and hence my earlier post. I think it's interesting to watch the two and find the similarities when in fact Amir had no knowledge of her before making these films. It seems at times we are all reflecting or speaking a similar language or truth, which reminds us of how much we are a part of the whole. We are like fragments of broken glass trying to find our way back to our original shape and reflect the light of this universe, hopefully one day in unison.

Maya Deren

She was an American Avant Garde Filmmaker (1917-1961). This short film covers her dance in cinema legacy. I really really appreciate her body of work including "Meshes of the Afternoon." Her films leave a deep impression in your mind of a time and place that seems so understandable after you have watched her film in regards to the reality she is trying to convey which is still very abstract.

Park Chan Wook, a South Korean director and screenwriter...all I have to say is WOW!!!! This guy's a genius!

The lead actors in both "Oldboy" and "Thirst" are all phenomenal!

"Oldboy" is an absolute must see for anyone who is a true film enthusiast! It won the Cannes Film Festival Grand Jury Prize for 2004. The story, the characters, the acting and the art direction are superb. Then check out his latest film called "Thirst." It's very strong visually and acting wise.
