Andrei Tarkovsky's "Mirror"
The film is simply brilliant. It seems like every shot is based on a guiding intuition that is in sync with his emotions provoked through his memories. That is why it makes sense even if it's a nonconventional method of storytelling. I strongly identify with this as a filmmaker because I have had little schooling in regards to how to tell a story through a proven method or formula and never want to adopt a method of storytelling other than my own. I believe that this is what distinguishes us in the end and makes us better storytellers. Some, of course, need more practice than others to hone in on their craft.
